I started the month in Kentucky to be by one of my close friends' side on his wedding day, which was a fruitful way to begin the month with love, gratitude, and hope in the cool breeze. The story of those two is worthy of a novel, starting from young love, splitting up to become who they were meant to be as human beings, and then coming back to go through their lives as one. Witnessing their journey is something I will forever hold close because seeing the people we care for succeed in their own journeys is underappreciated in today’s world.

With the holidays coming into full effect, it can be a challenging time for some people, which is why it is vital to remain grateful for the lives we have, the people we love, and the dreams that we have the ability to achieve, no matter how big or small they are. As I stated last year during this time, a practice of this nature should be done daily, not just when the celebration calls for it. I understand that this is easier said than done because while we are all in a constant state of moving forward with life, a little time to reflect and be present is a good balance of gratitude and hope.

I have had my share of struggles throughout the year, as we all have, but even in the trenches, we have to be able to fuel our spirits with hope for our futures and have gratitude for the hardships and the lessons learned from our time in the trenches. Without that, life would have no meaning, and a life without meaning is no life at all.

Here’s to the unexpected journey.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Peyton.
